The problem
Awesome Compliance wanted to build a platform that helps organisations work through complex frameworks such as the GDPR and the new EU AI Act. The trouble is that compliance never stands still. Laws change, new court rulings appear every day, and an AI model is already out of date the moment it has been trained. If a chatbot makes up a law that does not exist, that can lead to serious liability. What they needed was AI that is as careful as an experienced lawyer, only much faster.
The solution
We designed and built the complete backend of their "Collaborative AI" platform.
The AI does not only search internal databases. We built browsing agents that consult trusted external sources and index them as they change, such as the official EU legislation databases and government gazettes. Every answer is therefore based on the law as it stands today, not on old training data.
Before it gives an answer, the model first has to point to the articles and clauses it relies on. That way lawyers can check every answer straight away.
The agents also do more than answer questions. They draw up documents such as a Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) or a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA). To do that, they interview the user and link the answers to the legal frameworks that apply.
The result
This foundation helped Awesome Compliance grow and secure its recent funding. Lawyers use the tool as a second pair of eyes: for every statement the AI makes, they can click through to the exact source. When new regulation arrives, such as the EU AI Act, the system does not need to be retrained. The browsing agents read in the new texts, so the platform covers them straight away. The platform gathers the facts and sets up the documents itself, so compliance officers spend less time on paperwork and have more room for advice.
